About Me

My name is Rosalie Krengnektak, I was born and raised in my home community in Paulatuk which located in the Northwest Territories. I am Inuvialuit and a Lands Claims beneficiary which is under the Land Claims Final agreement. My language is Inuvialuktun. I’m a mother of an 8-year-old girl named Sophia Krengnektak and my parents are George and Moriya Krengnektak, they have seven children and five grandchildren that is including myself. My parents speak both inuvialuktun and Eastern Arctic (Inuinnaqtun – close to Inuktitut). With these two different languages I can understand them both. My identity shapes how I see the world. I graduated high school in 2011 and for a few years I worked in the school. After working I decided to continue my education where it led me to the Yukon Native Teacher Education Program here in Whitehorse in which I am currently in my second year in the program.
