Introduction

My name is Rosalie Krengnektak, I was born and raised in my home community in Paulatuk which located in the Northwest Territories. I am Inuvialuit. My language is Inuvialuktun. I’m a mother of an 8-year-old girl soon to be 9-year-old girl named Sophia Krengnektak and my parents are George and Moriya Krengnektak, they have seven children and five grandchildren that is including myself. My parents speak both inuvialuktun and Eastern Arctic (Inuinnaqtun – close to Inuktitut). With these two different languages I can understand them both. My identity shapes how I see the world. Since I was young my parents have taught us all about our tradition and culture of how to survive out on the land, speak our language which is passed down to their grandchildren. One of the things I like to do in the summer time is go out camping with my family where me and my daughter as well as the family get to spend time together and during this time I get to go hunting with my parents. I graduated high school in 2011 and for a few years I worked in the school. After working I decided to continue my education where it led me to the Yukon Native Teacher Education Program here in Whitehorse in which I am currently in my second year in the program. My experiences with educational technology is that since I worked within the school I was able to learn and use some of the main technology within the classroom such as the smart board, teams, and Moodle. for this course I can personally say that I am new to blogging which i haven’t owned a blog before. I can say that I am excited to learn more about my blog and all that goes with it.
